When it comes to making movies, there is a lot you can do to experiment. It is said that when the theatre was originated, the plays were structured in a way that the dialogues were not spoken, but sung into verses. Plays then started having more spoken dialogues and gradually we lost the essence of Musical plays. Centuries later, cinema came into being, which was a digital extension of the theatre. Thus, the magic and charm of musicals were completely lost.

Imagine that you are watching the “Titanic”. Jack meets Rose on the ship and falls in love with her. Rose has no fiancé to deal with and readily gets along with Jack. They have a sweet romance on their journey on the ship. There is no iceberg that hits the ship and they both happily reach their destination without facing any crisis. Both the characters are the same at the end of the movie as they were in the beginning.
Since you were born, you were told things a certain way. you were made to believe that the world functions in a particular way. You were further educated about the religion that you follow and the prevalent beliefs about the same. You were taught a standardised syllabus at school and college which told you how things really worked. Hence, since you gained consciousness, you were made to believe that the world, religion and the spiritual world acts in a specific manner. You were fed with news that claimed a particular event to have happened in a particular manner and you have never believed it to be true. However, what if you were told that all your life, you have been believing a lie?
What if the life you are living is a dream of a higher species? What if there is another universe that co-exists with the one you live in and you function in an exact opposite manner in that universe? What is the feeling of déjà vu that you have is nothing but a sneap peak into your past? What if the time never moves ahead and your past, present and future are taking place at the same time? What if every person in the universe is connected and whatever we do or feel affects everything in the universe? What if you can actually teleport yourself into the past or the future and change certain events?
There is not a single individual that doesn’t want to be successful. Everyone wants to achieve everything they have ever wanted, and live their dream. People use various motivational tools to get inspired and get the push that they require– be it a book, a teacher or a workshop. Since decades, cinema has been proven to be one of the most influential tools of media. Thus, if you show famous success stories on screen, you can motivate millions of viewers to hold on to their dreams and strive to achieve what they always wanted to.
In 2013, the world went gaga over Leonardo DiCaprio when he starred into Scorsese’s “The Wolf of Wall Street.” The movie centred around the rise and fall of Jordan Belfort, a stock broker who ruled the wall street in the ‘80s. It was a movie based on the real exploits and financial adventures of Belfort, which gained immense success and recognition. The movie was also nominated for multiple Academy Awards.
Isn’t it interesting to know what happens in an individual’s life? You must have met a person, or just observed a stranger and though what all they might go through every day. It is correctly said that life is a roller-coaster of emotions. You must have experienced soaring highs and hurting lows often in your life. So why not show that on the celluloid?
What if the Jews revolted against the Nazis? What if America never got independence from the British? What if the Renaissance period never came into existence? We have all studied history and it is full of interesting stories. There are hundreds of filmmakers that have made movies set in a particular era in the history, or about a famous historic event.
